Landscape Photography | Baguio City Sunrise

Baguio City Sunrise

IMG_12481

This is another sunrise image that I took at mount sto tomas. This is only a handheld shot. I was suppose to take the shot with a tripod with multiple shots because my plan is top capture the sun burst but don’t have time to set up so I just took it handheld.

By the way, I was just at the tip of the road when I took the shot I was standing there and when you look down it is dangerous  so I have to step background a little bit so that I will not slip or else you know what will happen, you will not gonna see me posting again.

Mount Cabuyao Sunrise

Today is my one year of blogging

My one year of blogging

all1

Its been a year since I started blogging. I wanna say thank you guys for all the comments, likes and visits. It really encourages me to write more and share it with you.

Today I am happy because I made it for one year, I know blogging is not easy but I believe that someday I will get hundreds and thousands of views. I just made a photo collage with some of my landscape images from my one year of blogging and some of them are on the images page.

Its rainy day in baguio city

Its rainy day season in baguio city, its been raining these past few days and I can’t go out to take photos to share in this blog. There is a storm coming but will not land in the philippines I think it will go up to the north.

Today I’m gonna wait until the storm is gone because I know that will be the best time to go out and shoot sunrise or sunset it depends on what time will the storm leave. What I mean by the best time is it will be the best sunrise and sunset color.

Foggy morning at baguio city

IMG_39301

You might think it is not foggy at all because of the picture, As you can see on the ground it is not foggy, I just took a picture where it is clear. I have been walking around searching for a place to photograph the fogs, from 5am to 8am (not exact) baguio city was covered with clouds I don’t know how it looks when you go to mount cabuyao.

Everywhere I go all I can see is fog its like I am in heaven walking around or floating above the clouds. I felt the cold and I am just wearing t-shirt.

SM Baguio City at Night

SM Baguio

Before going to the mall I already pictured in my mind the image that I wanted to take so I don’t need to walk around and find the right composition.

When I got there it looks like the image that I am envisioning is not what I wanted to achieve, I took some shots and move to another spot and took another shots and reviewed the pictures and again I took severals shots with different compositions and still I could not find the image that I am envisioning, I don’t know what is lacking but I have one shot that looks a little better but not the image I wanted and that is the image above that you see, it is because I think the image is a bit balance and only few lights trails coming from the cars because there are only few passing cars.

There is another thing that I observe, there are fogs coming from the left I wanted to see fogs moving (I don’t know the right terms to use) but yes I wanted to see fogs moving around the area with longer exposure from 10 to 30 seconds but I could not do it because the image would be too bright because of the light from the mall.

But I am still happy with the image. l

The fountain at rose garden baguio city

IMG_3738

For the past few years I have been visiting rose garden to take some sunset images with the fountain. The fountain was beautiful that time and the lights are glowing. I think it was 2013 when it first seen in public and it was the main attraction every night and also surrounded with people just to witness the fountain dancing.

This year I visited one more time to take one more shot and I observe one thing, the lights and colors of the fountain are fading and some are not even working, there is no water coming out. d

I think baguio people are now bored visiting this place because they always see same thing every night. The government need to rebuild.

Landscape Photography – Shooting Moving Clouds

One of my dream in shooting landscapes is shooting moving clouds over mountains I tried it out and here is the image I got.f

IMG_3591

Because of lack of gears like the nd filter or dark filter I waited until evening just to shoot fog or the clouds.

The neutral density filter is a dark filter use in shooting at daylight with a long exposure. You cannot use nd filters at night you can only use the filter at daylight or before it gets dark. Try using the nd filter and compare it to the image without the filter, the effect has big difference,.. without using the filter the image looks boring but using the filter the image looks more dramatic. d

Cordillera Mountains – Ampucao Road

IMG_00941

This shot was taken at ampucao road. I was walking around the place and saw some pretty good spot for sunrise shoot. I’ve never tried to shoot sunrise here so I am hoping to visit someday.

Today I just walk around and scout the place for my future sunrise image. Hopefully. After this shot I went to visit mount ulap, I remember it was so hot and I only got one bottle of water I drank the water and was not enough. During the hike there was a store where you can buy water so I bought two more bottles and again it was not enough so I fill up my bottle and continue the hike.

Because I saw the first store I just thought it was the end but not yet. I need to walk 1 or more 2 hours until I reach the end by that time my legs are shaking and very very very… very tired all I wanted to do is sleep and just finish the hike after I wake up but I cannot do that. After a long hours of walk finally I reach the end.c

Mount Yangbew Adventure

IMG_4054

First of all the mountain is not too high to hike, when you visit the mountain it will just take you less than 30 minutes of hike. During my first visit to the mountain I was so tired maybe because it was my first time but its true it was so tiring and my legs are shaking but when you reach the summit its like you have won million dollars of cash thats how I felt when I reach the summit.

On my social media accounts I was ask some questions about mount yangbew. I cannot answer everything on my social media. I will answer it on my blog and I will only answer some important questions that you need to know.

  1. Where was mount yangbew located? My answer to this question is “google it”. Just kidding! The mountain is located at tawang la trinidad benguet it is called mt jumbo but the real name is yangbew. Along the road you will see signs that you need to follow directing to the main entrance of the mountain. From there you will see a sign again going up to the mountain that is the start of the hike.
  2. How much is the transportation fee? From baguio to tawang la trinidad it will cost you 17 pesos if you will ride a jeepney but if you want to ride a taxi it will cost you more than 100 pesos but I suggest choose jeepney because its cheaper.IMG_9035
  3. How about the entrance fee, how much it cost? During my first visit to the mountain it is free I got nothing to pay but now there is a fee of 35 pesos and 25 for the students I am not sure of the fees anymore because its been a year that I never visited.IMG_3828
  4. What to bring? In this 20 minutes hike you don’t need to bring a lot of things just bring with you 1 liter of water, extra clothes if you need it and the most important to bring is a camera, a phone camera or dslr. Take a picture of your adventure, take some shots of sunrise and sunset and I forgot bring umbrella to cover you from rain and sun. s
