Baguio City Sunrise
This is another sunrise image that I took at mount sto tomas. This is only a handheld shot. I was suppose to take the shot with a tripod with multiple shots because my plan is top capture the sun burst but don’t have time to set up so I just took it handheld.
By the way, I was just at the tip of the road when I took the shot I was standing there and when you look down it is dangerous so I have to step background a little bit so that I will not slip or else you know what will happen, you will not gonna see me posting again.
Mount Cabuyao Sunrise
The beautiful mountains of baguio city
What a great morning everyone. The image was taken at mount st tomas where you can see the mountains of baguio city. It was cloudy that time and the sun was covered a bit by the clouds. My friend and I spend the morning in the mountain for almost two hours waiting for a good light.
During that time let me tell you that the temperature was so freakin cold, we are high up the mountain experiencing the cold weather but after waiting for more than an hour it is already hot because the sun is up.
My one year of blogging
Its been a year since I started blogging. I wanna say thank you guys for all the comments, likes and visits. It really encourages me to write more and share it with you.
Today I am happy because I made it for one year, I know blogging is not easy but I believe that someday I will get hundreds and thousands of views. I just made a photo collage with some of my landscape images from my one year of blogging and some of them are on the images page.
As a photographer I am really enjoying taking pictures with a beautiful view like the picture you see above. 100 meters before I got to this location I am happy because I saw a beautiful view but while I am approaching I saw something that I didn’t like to see in my image, I saw a house below but I still took images because the sky is stunningly beautiful.
As I look back again with my image the house below did a good part in the image. I was thinking what will be my foreground if there is no house below? A plant? or a flower maybe? I think the house was just ok as a foreground it looks simple and beautiful.a
One of my dream in shooting landscapes is shooting moving clouds over mountains I tried it out and here is the image I got.f
Because of lack of gears like the nd filter or dark filter I waited until evening just to shoot fog or the clouds.
The neutral density filter is a dark filter use in shooting at daylight with a long exposure. You cannot use nd filters at night you can only use the filter at daylight or before it gets dark. Try using the nd filter and compare it to the image without the filter, the effect has big difference,.. without using the filter the image looks boring but using the filter the image looks more dramatic. d
This shot was taken at ampucao road. I was walking around the place and saw some pretty good spot for sunrise shoot. I’ve never tried to shoot sunrise here so I am hoping to visit someday.
Today I just walk around and scout the place for my future sunrise image. Hopefully. After this shot I went to visit mount ulap, I remember it was so hot and I only got one bottle of water I drank the water and was not enough. During the hike there was a store where you can buy water so I bought two more bottles and again it was not enough so I fill up my bottle and continue the hike.
Because I saw the first store I just thought it was the end but not yet. I need to walk 1 or more 2 hours until I reach the end by that time my legs are shaking and very very very… very tired all I wanted to do is sleep and just finish the hike after I wake up but I cannot do that. After a long hours of walk finally I reach the end.c
First of all the mountain is not too high to hike, when you visit the mountain it will just take you less than 30 minutes of hike. During my first visit to the mountain I was so tired maybe because it was my first time but its true it was so tiring and my legs are shaking but when you reach the summit its like you have won million dollars of cash thats how I felt when I reach the summit.
On my social media accounts I was ask some questions about mount yangbew. I cannot answer everything on my social media. I will answer it on my blog and I will only answer some important questions that you need to know.
- Where was mount yangbew located? My answer to this question is “google it”. Just kidding! The mountain is located at tawang la trinidad benguet it is called mt jumbo but the real name is yangbew. Along the road you will see signs that you need to follow directing to the main entrance of the mountain. From there you will see a sign again going up to the mountain that is the start of the hike.
- How much is the transportation fee? From baguio to tawang la trinidad it will cost you 17 pesos if you will ride a jeepney but if you want to ride a taxi it will cost you more than 100 pesos but I suggest choose jeepney because its cheaper.
- How about the entrance fee, how much it cost? During my first visit to the mountain it is free I got nothing to pay but now there is a fee of 35 pesos and 25 for the students I am not sure of the fees anymore because its been a year that I never visited.
- What to bring? In this 20 minutes hike you don’t need to bring a lot of things just bring with you 1 liter of water, extra clothes if you need it and the most important to bring is a camera, a phone camera or dslr. Take a picture of your adventure, take some shots of sunrise and sunset and I forgot bring umbrella to cover you from rain and sun. s
Its been a year that I never visited mount yangbew, one of the mountain where I practice landscape photography, a place where I capture my simple sunrise image in 2015, from that year until 2016 I spend capturing images of sunrise, sunset and milky way but I never posted some of my shots on social medias.s
Now I’m gonna post one of the image I took last year march 2016. During that time there are too many hikers and wondering how can I take the shot with no people in the image. I spend a couple of minutes to wait for the people to get out from the place or area where I am standing. Of course I am not the guy that can tell to the people “get the hell out from the moutain” haha I CANT do that. d
After a very very very… very long tiring wait now there are no people around me or at the area where I set up my camera. I took the image above and that is where it was born.
Yesterday I was planning to go out scouting some good places for my sunrise shoot but I did not go because we arrive late and I am not too familiar with the place. I was thinking I might get lost so I just woke up early in the morning and go scouting. I was looking for a good place and foreground but I can’t find any but I still took some shot. r
In the afternoon I still had hope to capture some good light so while waiting for the sunset, the sky is getting dark and starts raining and I’m not able to capture sunset. The next morning the sky is cloudy and the sun was covered with clouds so again I had no chance capturing sunrise but I was thankful my first sunrise shoot was good. “I need to practice my english”.
First of all this was my first time shooting landscape in mountain province. While travelling to sadanga I can see that there are a lot of good places to shoot sunrise and sunset, You can see fogs moving over the mountains everywhere, you can pass by the half tunnel and reach the highest point or highest road you will pass by a car.
During the cold season the highest point or nearby places, the temperature will drop to 6 or 8 degrees celcius or lower, it is very cold. I have been to the place during my younger years, wearing jacket or sweater is not enough specially when windy.
Sadanga is a good place to live with good people, as you can see in the image and during my younger years they never renovate their houses until now and they are rich in food, they have rice, meat or what they call “wat-wat” which is the common food they eat, so when you visit their village and join their occasions expect now they will give you “wat-wat” to eat. v
